The Jolly Roger, Sherkin Island Print 20x30cm

The Jolly Roger…I really enjoyed doing this painting, and as Mike said to me, it’s like a portrait of someone you know really well, and is somehow mesmerising.  Our much-loved island pub, heart and soul of the island and scene of many a good night out! The bright sunlight casts dappled shadows across the crisp white facade, the seats are set out facing the sweeping views over Roaring Water Bay, with Baltimore visible in the distance. Through the window of the Jolly, we can see a cosy corner inside the bar where we gather for a chat, a pint and a singsong….
