Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is an essential element in the life cycle of plants. During the biochemical process of photosynthesis, CO₂ and water (in the presence of light energy) are converted into carbohydrates, which are the basis for plant growth. The presence of CO₂ is a critical factor for plant development. While the average concentration of CO₂ in the atmosphere is around 340 ppm, various studies have shown that increasing this amount to 600–1000 ppm during the daylight hours can significantly increase yields.
